Today me and Den decided to try out a new pizza place. Although we usually got to Cruzer's Pizza in LA, sometimes it can be a bit annoying having to sit and traffic and find parking nearby. When we were in Loma Linda and stopped by Clark's Nutritional Store, I saw an entire vegan menu for Cheezy Pizza in Colton which was not too far away. When we arrived there, I was surprised there weren't more people there but we didn't let that scare us.
I was happy to see that Cheezy's is vegan friendly and it was advertised outside of their building;things were definitely looking up!
After Den talked with the owner and was told that they no longer had boneless chicken wings (the owner said the they weren't popular), we decided to try their garlic cheese bread, jalapeno poppers and loaded meat pizza. The garlic cheese bread was delicious soft and chewy. I loved that every bite was covered with garlic and daiya cheese and the marinara sauce was a wonderful complement to t…
Athough I've beeen doing pretty good with my new vegan lifestyle, there are some areas I'm still weak in such as when co-workers bring in chocolate candy from a trip overseas. I've had my moment of weakness and almost gave in but in the end, I stood my ground. Yay me! I'm doing my best to take it one day at a time and reassure myself that by not eating eggs or dairy, I am helping animals and not hurting them.
Last night Den made a tasty dinner of Chinese chicken and broccoli however since money's kinda tight right now, he cut up some veggie chicken nuggets rather than using Morningstar chike strips and instead of using regular white rice, he used a bag of pre-mixed rice and vegatables. Surprisingly, it was very filling and I told him he'll definitely have to make this again.
I have neglected this blog for far too long and what better time to restart writing than now? Since my last blog post in May, lots of fun and exciting things have happened.
Let's recap starting with June 2016 shall we.....
Me and hubby celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary at the end of June by taking our first international airplane trip to Canada. I'm a big library nerd so of course I had to go get a Canadian library card.
We also were able to meet the Canadian Olympic rowing team at the airport on our way back to the States.
While in Canada, we also ate at some delicious vegan restaurants such as Mo:LE and the hotel where we stayed at Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa in Sidney, British Columbia. If you're a books lover, definitely visit Sidney because they have a total 8 eight bookstores with walking distance of each other so there's a book for what type of thing you like to read. I'll post again soon to cover other exciting things such as my best friend havi…
